SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO — MSO of Puerto Rico is honored for the seventh consecutive time with the “Elite” recognition from America’s Physician Group (APG), as part of the Standards of Excellence™ (SOE) 2022 program. The annual SOE program survey, administered by the organization, evaluates the infrastructure of coordinated care and the performance of physician group members.
The program serves as an instrument to evaluate and certify that the established tools and processes meet the expectations of buyers and patients. At the same time, it sets the standard for assessing the technical quality, responsive patient experience, and affordability of the physician group. SOE is open to all 335 medical groups, members of APG, among which MSO of Puerto Rico received “Elite” status.
“It is an honor to receive this recognition for the seventh consecutive time, demonstrating our commitment to providing only the best for our providers and also for each patient,” said Dr. Raúl Montalvo Orsini, president of MSO of Puerto Rico. “We will continue to work hard to continue to achieve the standards of excellence and quality they deserve,” he added.
The award of the “Elite” title affirms MSO of Puerto Rico as an organization that meets the APG standard of excellence in the following five evaluation categories:
- Management practices towards care
- Patient-Centered Care
- Information technology
- Advanced Primary Care Support Group
- Accountability and transparency
Each year, APG’s Clinical Quality Leadership Committee adds new elements to each category, to set a higher standard than the previous year, in line with national health standards and rising expectations from government agencies, buyers and patients.
America’s Physician Groups is a national association, representing over 335 physician groups, with a network of approximately 170,000 doctors who provide health care to millions of patients. This year, those groups awarded SOE “Elite” status will be formally recognized at the APG 2022: Transitions Colloquium in Washington, DC.
